DECHARGE PHILIPS
The light of shops
Philips discharge lamps are the benchmark in retail: MASTERColour CDM lamps, with a ceramic burner, give stable light and excellent colour rendering, even better in the Elite version. They come as tubular lamps (CDM-T in G12, CDM-TC in G8.5, CDM-TD in RX7s), reflectors (CDM-R PAR20, PAR30, R111, Rm) and miniatures (CDM-Tm). There are also MHN-TD and HPI-T metal halide lamps, SDW white sodium, very warm (2500 K), and SON-T high-pressure sodium for street lighting.
How to choose
- The lamp must match the ballast: same wattage and same technology (metal halide, sodium or mercury).
- Colours: 830/WDL warm white, 942/NDL neutral white, 930 and Shoplight to bring out product colours in shops.
- After a power cut, a hot discharge lamp only restarts once it has cooled down, after a few minutes: this is normal.
