The reference is the shortest route. Almost every bulb carries one, and it is what separates two lamps that look alike but are not interchangeable.
Where to read it
- On the cap: stamped into the metal or printed on the plastic collar.
- On the glass: screen-printed in small characters, usually near the cap.
- On the old box, if you kept it — that is where it is most legible.
- In the manual of the fitting or the instrument, under maintenance.
What you can type
Our search accepts several forms of the same lamp. You do not need the full designation:
- the number alone: 64655, 13598;
- the ANSI or LIF code: FCS, EHJ, A1/216, CP89;
- the range name: DULUX D 26W/840, PL-C 26W/840;
- the EAN barcode from the packaging.
If the reference is unreadable
A lamp that has run hot for years often loses its printing. Note the cap, the wattage and the voltage instead — or send us a photograph.
