Electronic control gear
OSRAM electronic control gear: Halotronic and ET-Parrot transformers for 12 V spots, Powertronic PTi ballasts for metal halide lamps, Quicktronic ballasts for tubes and compact fluorescent lamps. Lighter and quieter than magnetic gear, they prevent flicker and extend lamp life.
How to choose
- 12 V transformer: the total wattage of the spots must fall within its range (for example 35–105 VA). With LED spots, choose an LED-compatible model.
- Ballast: choose the same wattage and lamp type as the old one (for example a PTi 70 for a 70 W HCI or CDM lamp) and have it fitted by an electrician.

POWERTRONIC PTI
The OSRAM Powertronic PTi electronic ballasts (220-240V) are designed to power metal halide lamps (CDM, HCI, CMH) from 35W to 150W at a high frequency, offering fast start-up, stable luminous flux and extended lamp lifespan compared to a traditional magnetic ballast. This gain in lamp lifespan largely offsets the initial extra cost of the electronic ballast compared to a magnetic ballast. ET-PARROT
The OSRAM ET-Parrot electronic transformers (220-240V to 12V), available in 70W and 105W with a dimmable LED-compatible version, are compact transformers designed to power your 12V spotlights (MR16, MR11, AR111) in suspended ceilings and furniture. Choose the wattage according to the total number of spotlights connected, respecting the minimum and maximum load range stated on each reference. HALOTRONIC MOUSE
The OSRAM HALOTRONIC HTM electronic transformers (compact “mouse” format) convert 230V mains power to 12V for supplying low-voltage halogen bulbs. Available in three power ranges (20-70 VA, 35-105 VA, 50-150 VA), they must be sized according to the total wattage of the connected bulbs, never exceeding the upper limit or falling below the stated lower limit. QUICKTRONIC
The OSRAM QUICKTRONIC electronic ballasts include several references depending on the type of lamp to be supplied: QTP-DL 1×55 for discharge lamps, QTP-T/E 1×18 or 2×18 for 18W compact fluorescents, and QTP-OPTIMAL 2×54-58 for T5 54W or T8 58W tubes. These electronic ballasts eliminate start-up flicker and the noise of ferromagnetic ballasts, while reducing power consumption.
