Because of their high luminance, UV emission and high internal pressure, these lamps must only run in a closed housing designed for them, with UV filters. They contain mercury: do not break; if broken, ventilate and follow the instructions. Never look at the arc directly.
How is it powered?
It is a discharge lamp: it needs the ballast (and ignitor) exactly matched to its wattage and type, never a direct mains connection. Observe the specified operating position.
