Changing the oven bulb: 4 good habits

Cold oven, power off
Switch off the power and wait until the oven is cold before removing the window: the glass and the bulb stay hot for a long time.

Don't touch the quartz
G9 and G4 halogens are bare quartz: handle them with a clean cloth, fingerprints make them age faster.

Check the window glass
Cracked, blackened or clouded glass protects the bulb poorly and hides the bake: replace it at the same time.

Keep a spare bulb
A bulb always fails mid-service. With a spare in the drawer, the oven is lit again in a few minutes.

Frequently asked questions
Can I put an LED bulb in my pizza oven?
No. No LED withstands the 300 to 500 °C of an oven: you need an incandescent or halogen bulb designed for ovens.
My original bulb is marked 300 °C: can I use a 500 °C one?
Yes, if the base, wattage and voltage are the same: a lamp rated hotter is fine. Never the reverse.
Do you sell the window glass on its own?
Yes, the window glass for MORETTI ovens is sold in packs of 2, without the bulb.
Can I order without a trade account?
Yes. A trade account with your VAT number also gives you 10% off the whole catalogue.
