Lighting a pharmacy well: 4 simple rules
1
High colour rendering
For skincare and advice, choose a CRI above 90 (codes /942 or /930): skin tones and products look true to life.
2
One shade of white
Neutral white 4000 K (code /840) gives the clean, sharp look expected of a pharmacy. Avoid mixing shades in the same space.
3
Replace in batches
Metal halide light shifts with age: a new lamp among old ones stands out. Change a whole row at once and keep spare lamps.
4
Protect the window
UV-Block quartz versions limit the UV radiation that fades packaging on display.
Reading your lamp's reference
Everything is printed on the glass or the base. These three details are enough to find the right lamp.
Wattage
Keep it identical: the fitting's ballast is designed for it.
Colour and rendering
1st digit = colour rendering (8 = CRI 80, 9 = CRI 90); the next two = shade (40 = 4000 K, 30 = 3000 K).
Base
G24d = 2 pins (magnetic ballast), G24q = 4 pins (electronic ballast). They are not interchangeable.
Not sure? Our Search by reference page will guide you, or send us a photo of the lamp.

Frequently asked questions
Can I order without a trade account?
Yes. A trade account with your VAT number also gives you 10% off the whole catalogue.
My lamp is no longer made. What can I do?
We keep stock of many discontinued references and know their equivalents in other brands. Send us the reference: we will offer the closest solution.
Should I switch to LED?
Not necessarily right away: as long as your fittings work, replacing the lamp like-for-like costs least. When you renovate, LED cuts energy use and maintenance: we can advise you.
