The OSRAM HALOSTAR OVEN 64428 is a special halogen lamp designed for oven interior lighting: its quartz and reinforced G4 base withstand a 300 °C ambient temperature. It delivers 300 lm of warm white light (≈2800 K) at CRI 100 — you watch your cooking in its true colours.

Powered at 12 V by the oven's built-in transformer, it replaces the original G4 lamp. Compact (Ø 10 × 33 mm), it works in any burning position. Bare quartz: handle it with a cloth — fingerprints shorten its life (≈2000 h).

No verified oven equivalent from PHILIPS, SYLVANIA or GE Lighting in G4 12 V. Warning: a standard G4 lighting capsule must never be fitted in an oven — its glass is not rated for 300 °C. This OSRAM reference is the original part.

Can I fit a standard G4 capsule in my oven?

No. Only a lamp specifically designed for ovens, like this HALOSTAR OVEN, withstands 300 °C. The glass of an ordinary lighting capsule cannot take it and may shatter.

Do I need to handle it with a cloth?

Yes. The quartz is bare: fingerprints create hot spots that shorten its life. Fit it with a cloth or glove, oven switched off and cold; clean with alcohol if touched.

Why 12 V and not 230 V?

The lamp runs on extra-low voltage from the oven's built-in transformer. Always replace it with an identical 12 V 20 W lamp, never a 230 V model.
