The OSRAM LUMILUX T8 36 W/830 is a T8 fluorescent tube, 1200 mm long (Ø 26 mm), with a G13 cap. It delivers 3,350 lumens of warm white light at 3,000 K, with Ra ≥ 80 colour rendering — the benchmark for commercial installations where colours must stay true.

Operation: Magnetic ballast (with starter) or electronic HF ballast. A rated life of about 20,000 hours and excellent lumen maintenance keep maintenance visits down — which matters when the fitting sits high up or in a technical ceiling.

Can I replace a T8 with a T5 (or the other way round)?

Not directly. T8 is Ø 26 mm with a G13 cap, T5 is Ø 16 mm with a G5 cap, and their lengths differ: they do not fit the same lampholders. T5 also requires an electronic ballast. Switching between them needs an adapter or a new luminaire.

What does the 830 code mean?

The first digit (8) indicates colour rendering of 80 to 89 — here Ra ≥ 80. The next two give the colour temperature: 830 = 3,000 K (warm white).

How is it recycled?

Like all fluorescent tubes it contains a small amount of mercury: take it to a WEEE collection point (recycling centre or store), never put it in household waste, and carry it without breaking it.
