Solar string lights with festoon-style pendants
These Modee solar LED string lights, with festoon-style pendants, carry 10 points of light over 4.7 m. Stretch it between two trees or along a pergola, a fence or a balcony railing, and in the evening it creates a festive mood, with no extension lead or outdoor socket.
How it works
No cable to run, no socket to provide: the solar panel recharges its battery during the day, and the string lights switch on by themselves at nightfall. The battery is a rechargeable AA Ni-MH cell, included: it is easy to replace once it wears out.
What kind of light?
Its warm white light, close to that of a candle or a lantern, creates a soft mood without spoiling the look of the garden.
Positioning
The small solar panel, linked to the string lights by a wire, pushes into the ground or a planter: it is the panel that needs to be in the sun, while the string lights can stay in the shade. Protected against rain and splashing water (IP44), the string lights can stay outdoors all season. A switch lets you turn it off, for winter storage for example.
