The POWERTRONIC PTi 35/220-240 is an intelligent OSRAM electronic ballast for 35 W metal halide discharge lamps: ceramic burner HCI (HCI-T, HCI-TT, HCI-PAR…) as well as quartz HQI. It drives the lamp at high frequency with regulated power, for stable light output and constant colour.
Compared with a magnetic ballast, it extends lamp life (controlled ignition, regulation), draws less power and switches the lamp off automatically at end of life — no more cycling and flickering of worn-out lamps.
Match the wattage exactly: a PTi 35 drives 35 W lamps only. Connection 220-240 V, 50/60 Hz.
Equivalents from other brands — with matching characteristics (same power, same range, same mounting), the job is done by PHILIPS HID-PV PrimaVision 35 W and Tridonic PCI 35 W. ⚠️ Always check overall size, terminals and starting method before replacing control gear in an existing luminaire: these differ between brands.

How does it differ from a magnetic ballast?
The electronics regulate power continuously: the lamp ignites gently, keeps flux and colour stable, and lasts longer. The PTi also switches the lamp off automatically at end of life instead of letting it cycle.
Which lamps can I connect?
Only 35 W metal halide discharge lamps: HCI (ceramic burner) or HQI (quartz). The wattage must match exactly — no more, no less.
Can it drive LEDs?
No. It is control gear dedicated to discharge lamps: to switch to LED, the fitting must be rewired without the ballast, with a suitable LED driver.
