Product Details

The QUICKTRONIC PROFESSIONAL QTP-T/E 1×18, 2×18 is the OSRAM electronic ballast for 18 W 4-pin compact fluorescent lamps — DULUX T/E and DULUX D/E, GX24q-2 base. A single unit drives one or two lamps: the same model for a single downlight or a twin-lamp fitting.

At high frequency the lamp no longer flickers and the stroboscopic effect disappears: visual comfort is far better than with a magnetic ballast, and consumption drops noticeably. Electrode preheating (≈ 1.5 s) spares the lamp at every start — which is what lets it take thousands of switching cycles without wearing the cathodes out early.

The starter is no longer needed: with electronic control gear it comes out of the circuit (or is replaced by a link if the luminaire requires one). At end of life, the cut-off function switches the lamp off instead of leaving it blinking indefinitely. Supply 220-240 V, 50/60 Hz.

Equivalents from other brands — with matching characteristics (same power, same range, same mounting), the job is done by PHILIPS HF-P pour PL-T / PL-C and Tridonic PC TC PRO. ⚠️ Always check overall size, terminals and starting method before replacing control gear in an existing luminaire: these differ between brands.

Frequently asked questions

Can I connect just one lamp?

Yes, that is by design: the QTP-T/E 1×18, 2×18 runs either one or two 18 W lamps. Simply wire the lamp(s) according to the diagram printed on the unit.

Do I need to keep the starter?

No. Electronic control gear handles preheating and ignition itself: the starter comes out of the circuit. When refurbishing a magnetically ballasted fitting, also remove the old ballast and the power-factor capacitor.

Is it dimmable?

No, this is a non-dimmable version (on/off operation). Dimming requires a DIM ballast (1-10 V or DALI), which is a different unit.
