LED strip 24 V, 14.4 W/m: 1,730 lumens per metre

This Modee 24 V LED strip gives 1,730 lumens per metre for 14.4 W/m, on a width of 10 mm. It is the right power for true main lighting: worktop, lighting cove, shop fitting. It comes on a 5 m reel.

LED density

With 160 LEDs per metre, the light points are very close together: under a profile with a diffuser, the line of light is perfectly continuous.

What kind of light?

Warm white 2700 K matches the tone of traditional incandescent bulbs: a soft, restful light, just what you expect from mood lighting. Its colour rendering index above 90 reproduces colours faithfully: a real plus for a worktop, a shop window, a dressing room or a mirror.

Where to fit it?

Rated IP20, it is intended for indoor use, away from moisture. For a bathroom or outdoor use, choose the IP65 silicone-sleeved version.

Power supply and installation

It runs on 24 V DC from an LED power supply chosen to suit the installed length: 14.4 W per metre, plus a 20% margin. For 5 m, that means 72 W consumed, so a power supply of at least 86 W. 24 V limits voltage drop compared with 12 V: an advantage on long runs. It is dimmable, with a dimmer or a controller suited to its voltage. It can be cut at the marked points and sticks with its adhesive backing, ideally inside an aluminium profile.
